This recording is very unique. Each track starts with a clip of about 30 seconds or so of the the original 78 rpm recording of the original 1920's orchestra, then the CRHSO "fades in" over the top (playing the exact same arrangement), while the original orchestra fades out. In a few cases the original band, or vocalist, comes back in one or more times. The CRHSO sometimes does this fading-in "live" as well (the sound man is previously given a cassette or DAT on which short segments of the originals are pre- recorded). In fact, that's where the idea originally came from. We have had so many fans tell us over the years that the effect is so uncanny that it gave us the idea to do it on a recording. Vocalists include: Miss Kelley Foster, Jim Jones, Ray Williams, CJ Sams, and Cheryl Chase.
